My name is Jodie Hodgson. I am 28 years old, born in Birmingham and raised in Tamworth. I am a full time mother and a part time model which I thoroughly enjoy. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends and my son. I have a passion for food. I eat purely nutritional food and I maintain a gluten and dairy free diet. I believe that your body is a temple that needs consistent care so I train at least 5/6 times per week.
My ambition in life is to travel and to have the opportunity to work internationally, commercially and throughout the modelling industry.
I believe that I am a confident character and a people person. I am very approachable and can talk to anyone. I also have the drive and passion to achieve aspired goals in my life. These characteristics certainly derived from my father. He was a very hardworking man and he always taught me that whatever you want in life, you have to go out there, work and fight hard for it until you get there.
I have always been very creative which my parents saw in me from a very early age. They decided to enter me into a dancing school from the early age of 3 which I absolutely loved and took to almost instantly. I explored various types of dancing such as tap, which of course was my favourite, ballet, acrobat, modern and street. By the age of 4, I was competing in competitions all over the country alongside other dance schools. I won competitions in ballet, acrobat and I also came 1st in a tap competition back in 1996. I have since gained a selection of medals throughout my years of being a dancer.
My dancing experience was a great asset for my insecurities because as soon as I stepped onto any stage, my confidence massively increased as I almost forget where I am.
Secondary school was definitely a dark time for me as I was bullied throughout the years which again, knocked my confidence massively. However, this did not last long as on my prom night, I was approached by a photographer, Stuart Randle. He saw something in me and believed I had potential, so he guided me in the direction of modelling and scouted me to RMG modelling agency. This was where it all began. My confidence slowly regained as I began to build up a bank of experience doing work in magazines, newspapers, fashions shows, music videos, make up advertising, being an extra on television, exhibitions and cars shows. I have had the great pleasure of working for brands such as Vivienne Westwood, Lacoste, Hugo Boss and Armani, Toi Cuture, Gucci, Mercedes Benz, Le Mans, BMW and many more.
I would advise to anyone that would love an opportunity to become whatever you aspire to be in life, never give up. Set your goals that may seem unrealistic to start with, however if you don’t get there the first time. Don’t let it knock you down. From experience, I know that whenever I didn’t succeed in something, I always came back fighting with a stronger sense of passion, drive and urge to prove people wrong. I truly believe that you can succeed anything in life if you really put your heart and soul into achieving the unimaginable.
I recently took part in my very first pageant on the 6th of May 2016 for Face Of The World. Something very different to what I am used to, however I was absolutely shocked and over the moon to find out that I made it through to the internationals as a finalist! In addition to this, I will be competing alongside other countries on the 19th September 2016. This has definitely become a new found passion of mine as I am continuing to pursue this area further.
I recently participated in my second pageant for Miss Caribbean UK. I passed the heats stage and I am extremely happy to announce that I will be going into the finals on the 3rd of December 2016.
I am very ambitious, passionate, caring, bubbly, kind and friendly, and I know that I still have many goals that I want to accomplish. I have a very strong work ethic as whatever task I am doing, I always commit to it 110 percent. I strongly believe that motivation and hard work is the key to success, and my main belief in life is that if you put your mind to it, anything is possible.
