Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has today summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the Director-General of the State Security Service, Lawal Daura, to the Presidential Villa, Abuja according to new reports.
It is gathered that the two security chiefs, who arrived Aso Rock at different times, were to update the acting president on security developments including the blockade of the National Assembly by security officials.
It is learnt that IGP Idris was the first to arrive at about 12.35 p.m. before the arrival of Mr Daura at about 1.15 p.m.
The siege to the national assembly is believed to have been put in place to allow for the forceful removal of Senate President Bukola Saraki from office who recently defected from Nigeria’s ruling APC to the PDP.
