Nigeria league title within our grasp – Rangers coach
The Nigeria league championship is within grasp, according to Enugu Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo after his team spanked closest rivals Rivers United 4-0. Rangers have 54 points from 32 matches and are now just four matches away from annexing their first title after 32 years.
Their remaining four matches are away to Shooting Stars, at home to Sunshine Stars, then away to doomed Ikorodu United, before they wrap up their campaign at home against El Kanemi Warriors.
Asked after the Rivers United thrashing if Rangers will go on to be champions, coach Imama simply replied “Winning the league is now in sight.”
The Eagles assistant coach said they were deserved big winners against Rivers United on Sunday.
“I understand Rivers United very well and I am quite happy with the win,” he said.
“I told my players (before kick-off) this was going to be one of the easiest games we will play this season.
“To be honest, I did not know we would win by this margin but we will gladly accept it as it was deserved.”
