Nigerian-born Wolves Wonderkid Handed No.14 Shirt Ahead Of His Debut EPL Season
Nigerian-born 20-year-old forward, Bright Enobakhare, was on Friday handed the number 14 shirt by Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the English Premier League season, raising insinuations that he is in the manager’s first team plan.
All things being equal, Enobakhare will wear the number fourteen shirt for the entirety of the 2018-2019 EPL campaign for the newly promoted side.
Last season, the highly-rated young striker wore the number 26 shirt 21 times in the Championship to help Wolves dominate the second-tier of English football, same number he donned during the 2016-2017 campaign.
In 49 outings for Wolves’ first team, Enobakhare, who joined the club at the age of fifteen, has found the net on three occasions.
Enobakhare played with the number 48 kit when he made his first-team debut for Wolves in a League Cup tie against Barnet on August 25, 2015.
The 20-year-old has worn the number 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 shirts for the youth teams of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves face Everton at the Molineux Stadium in their Premier League curtain raiser on Saturday before a trip to Leicester City next weekend.
The EPL kicks off Friday night with a mouthwatering clash between Manchester United and Leicester City at Old Trafford. Another Nigerian, Kelechi Iheanacho, will be the center of attention as he’s been touted to lead the line for the Foxes against a United side its manager believes is weak defensively.
