[REVEALED] Ex-House Of Reps Member, Opeyemi Bamidele Flown to UK in Tinubu’s Jet For Treatment
On June 1, Bamidele was shot at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Ekiti during a reception organised for Kayode Fayemi, the governorship candidate for the July 14 election.
He was later taken to Euracare Multi-Specialists Hospital on Victoria Island, Lagos, for treatment.
Doctors were said to have removed bullets from his body.
Punch said Bamidele was flown to the UK on a private jet belonging to Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the APC.
The newspaper said Tinubu insisted that Bamidele should be flown to Europe so he will receive proper treatment.
The former house of reps member served as a commissioner under Tinubu.
“He (Bamidele) had started cracking jokes at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, where a surgery was performed on him before he was flown to Lagos for further treatment,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.
Ahmed Salami, media aide to the ex-lawmaker, reportedly confirmed that his principal has been flown abroad for treatment.
“He is fully stabilised, so there is no cause for alarm. He only went abroad for a post-surgery management and to get prepared for the task ahead. He actually walked into the plane,” Salami said.
