Jane's Addiction on stage fight

Jane’s Addiction on stage fight

They may have thrived on tension, but no one was expecting the reformed Janes Addiction to bust up so spectacularly onstage at a show last night in Boston. Supported by the brilliant Love and Rockets, the tour has been an acclaimed sell out across the USA. Somehow the wheels seemed to have stayed on during the tour until the show hit Boston, and then the shit hit the fan.

Mid-set, Perry Farrell seemed to get agitated for a few songs, starting with Mountain Song, and the tensions began to rise. This tension only seemed to grow as the singer was shouting and barking into the mic before the band then played Three Days and then it all exploded in the next song as Farrell finally marched across the stage and took aim, and attacked Navarro at the end of Ocean Days.

He ran across the stage to guitarist Dave Navarro and began pushing and shouting at him during one of the guitar player’s solos. The aleteraction saw a handbags styler brawl as the wild eyed singer kept having a go at the guitar player until a member of the road crew dragged him away stopping the show mid song.

With this Jane’s Addiction on stage fight it’s hard to see where the band can go from here is open to anyone’s guess – the tour itself is projected to continue until the end of October, and there are dates to fill. At best, there would have to be some sort of making up and/or truce backstage.

Of course, we have seen worse from The Fall back in the day, and we know being on the road can stretch the nerves to the max, but there is nowhere to go, so after a situation like this, counselling is needed, and humble pie is served up. If they can overcome this, then it may even make up the band stronger for the final leg.

Hopefull the tour will continue if only so we can see more of the great youtube clips of Love and Rockets a band who are at a seasoned high.
