Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has donated the sum of ₦30 million to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to support the fencing of a newly allocated cemetery land in the state capital.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Zaiyanu Aliero, during the closing ceremony of the Healing and Deliverance Crusade at Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
Promoting Religious Harmony
Commissioner Aliero praised the organisers of the spiritual gathering and lauded Dr. Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Enenche, as well as the Kebbi CAN leadership, for offering prayers for peace, unity, and progress in the state.
“This crusade has united people across backgrounds and denominations in a spirit of hope and faith,” Aliero stated, describing the governor’s gesture as a testament to his inclusive approach to governance and promotion of religious tolerance.
Ongoing Support for Christian Community
Aliero further highlighted the administration’s ongoing support for the Christian community, citing the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Doro to the Kebbi State Judicial Service Commission, the payment of an ₦18 million Jerusalem pilgrimage debt on behalf of CAN, annual Christmas welfare packages, and the allocation of land for a Christian cemetery.
“These efforts are deliberate moves to foster mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among all religious groups in Kebbi,” Aliero added.
Governor Nasir Idris has continued to gain praise for his commitment to an all-inclusive government, ensuring that all faiths have equal opportunities and support in the state.
