Alison Hammond has lifted the lid on her workout and exercise routines that have helped her lose an whopping 11 stone.

The beloved TV presenter, 49, admitted to taking drastic action about her weight following an incident where she was made to feel uncomfortable on a plane.

On an episode of This Morning from earlier this month, Alison confessed to sometimes buying two seats ahead of flying as she almost reached 28 stone.

The incident prompted a dramatic change of lifestyle for Alison, which has now seen the former Big Brother contestant’s weight plummet to below 17 stone.

And in a recent post shared to Instagram, the Great British Bake Off host shared a glimpse into her gruelling workout routine which has really shown results.

Her personal trainer, Lui Mancini, called Alison ‘the Queen’ in the post which expressed they were ‘short on time’ but still managed a ’45-minute circuit’.

The post comes just days after that confession on This Morning, which saw her go into detail about the lengths she had to go to just to go away for holiday or work.

Joined by Dermot O’Leary on the couch, she said: ‘I was nearly 28 stone. I’ll be honest with you. That is morbidly obese, and I used to buy an extra seat because I didn’t want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them.’

She continued: ‘I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone’s seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class.

‘It was embarrassing – the whole thing – and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don’t do it anymore because I’ve lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that.’

Alison later added that her weight situation was causing problems far more serious than the difficulties she sometimes faced when booking plane tickets.

‘I had to lose weight because I was dying. I really was dying. People will still say I’m big but now I’m 17 stone rather than 28 stone and I’m comfortable with telling you my weight.’

While discussing her battle with obesity back in 2022, Alison broke down during an episode of This Morning when speaking to a viewer, sharing that she’d struggled with it ‘all her life’ and that she wanted people to realise that it’s a ‘disease’.

Soon after that day, she also told Lorraine Kelly and daughter Rosie’s What If? Podcast that she faced constant trolling and online abuse because of her weight.

With her weight loss journey fully on course, Alison added that while she ‘might die a little sooner’ despite her efforts to lose 11 stone, she was still determined to ‘live life to the fullest’.
