DOZENS of flights have been delayed this morning amid torrential rainfall.
Manchester Airport was thrown into chaos after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain over the region.
It is understood that some of the busy airports runways have also been closed due to repairs taking place on the taxiway.
A minor defect is understood to have been found and is being addressed by staff.
The repairs are expected to be fixed within a couple of hours but the rainfall will continue to delay flights.
The weather is causing the repairs to take longer than usual and sparking disruption at the busy airport.
Flights operated by British Airways, Ryanair, easyJet and more have all been affected by the delays.
Passengers hoping to travel to European destinations including Copenhagen, Paris and Malaga have been left disappointed.
