Ten bloody days in which the M23 rebel group swept across the east of Democratic Republic of Congo. The militia, made up of ethnic Tutsis, claims it’s a Congolese nationalist group, holding rallies to promise safety after the bloodshed.
But after they took Goma, the regional capital of two million people the Rwandan-backed fighters are reportedly moving south towards Bukavu, the capital of South Kivu, and have even vowed to reach the capital, Kinshasa, which is 1,600 miles away.
