Ex-England icon lands shock reality series – with Love Island star daughter

Former England and Liverpool legend Michael Owen and his family have netted their own fly-on-the-wall reality TV show.

The footballer and his clan, which includes daughter Gemma, the former Love Islander, will star in a series which is far removed from his goal-scoring days on the pitch.

Instead, The Owens: A Stable Family will focus on the fact they are all horse-mad and follow them in their equestrian pursuits at Manor House Stables in Cheshire.

It comes after similar streaming documentaries about other sporting legends, from Tyson Fury and Wayne Rooney to David Beckham and Rafal Nadal.

An insider said: “Michael’s life in horse racing is a world away from his football career and fans will see him swapping big stadiums for stables and all the hard graft that goes with being a racehorse owner.

“All the family is starring in the show, not least Gemma who, since starring on Love Island in 2022, has been balancing life in the public eye as an influencer with over four million followers alongside her equestrian career, swimwear and brand deals.
