Georgia’s election commission says the ruling Georgian Dream party has won a majority in the country’s elections – with 70% of precincts counted – although the opposition insisted it had won.
The vote has pitted the pro-Russian ruling party against supporters of European integration. The opposition say they’ve been attacked by “organised criminal gangs” – while election observers are also investigating allegations of fraud.
