In recent months there has been a lot of speculation over relations between David Beckham and his eldest son Brooklyn ahead of the footballing legend’s major milestone
A public relations expert has claimed that it must be “heartbreaking” for David Beckham to have an alleged family feud being fought out in the public eye.
In recent months, there has been speculation of a divide within the Beckham household. Whilst this alleged rift is not something the family has publicly commented on, it has generated a lot of speculation.
The subject of the divide is the relationship between David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and the rest of the family. According to reports, neither Brooklyn nor his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham attended David’s 50th birthday celebrations in London.
However, David’s other children, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, were present. They united with Victoria, 51, in marking the former Manchester United star’s half century.
What’s more interactions, or lack thereof, on the likes of Instagram has further highlighted questions over inter-Beckham relations and how this might be affecting the iconic family.
Speaking about the matter to the Telegraph, public relations consultant Mark Borkowski highlighted how difficult it must be for David to deal with such public speculation over a very private matter.
He told the publication: “It’s heartbreaking when your dispute is played out in public – it must be incredibly difficult. This is the dark side of fame: there’s no place to hide.
“It also goes to show that however wealthy and powerful you are, you can’t escape family problems – just like everyone else.”
Mark isn’t the only person to have speculated about the alleged feud between aspiring chef Brooklyn and the rest of his family with David “heartbroken” after his son didn’t acknowledge his birthday on social media, reports BirminghamLive.
A source reportedly told the Daily Mail that the issue may not lie with Brooklyn, but with actress Nicola. They claimed: “This is nothing to do with him and is all about Nicola. All David and Victoria want is their son back – and they will be there to welcome him any time.
“It’s a terribly sad situation and it’s been going on for a long time. They adore Brooklyn, their children are everything to them, but Brooklyn isn’t talking to them. He isn’t talking to the family and David and Victoria are heartbroken.”
Away from looking after his family, David is currently the co-owner and president of Inter Miami CLF a US-based football team that plays in America’s equivalent of the Premier League, the MLS (Major League Soccer). He is also co-owner of Salford City FC who play in League Two.
Speaking about his love for football in an Instagram post, David looked back on how the game had shaped his personal and professional life.
He said: “Looking back on some of my favourite football memories as I turn 50… I met my wife at a United game, found friends for life in the Academy & played for some of the best teams in the world.
“My children have come along on this special journey with me… and now a dream come true to be an owner with Inter Miami. Feeling very lucky.”
