Prominent politicians, business community, corporate organisations, and Academics are among the numerous individuals and organisations that have continued to appreciate and congratulate Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State as he celebrates two years of remarkable stewardship.
According the special adviser on communication and strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru,the general consensus among those who appraised the Governor’s performance in their respective goodwill messages on his two years anniversary was commendation and recommendations on the way forward as well as expectations for continuity.
Among those with similar convictions on Kauran Gwandu’s miraculous two years achievements was the Kebbi Scholars Association, made of professors, researchers, senior lecturers and PhD holders in different fields and indigenes of Kebbi State at universities in Nigeria.
At a courtesy visit on the Governor, the chairman of the Association Professor Dahiru Muhammad Argungu said, ” we have a teacher governance making wonders that are relevant and his two years of remarkable governance are clear evidence ”
The professor advised the Governor to partner with the Association in the implementation and execution of his administration’s development programmes in view of the fact that the Association comprises experts in all sectors of human endeavour.
Similarly, a prominent politician and chairman of Kaura Network (KN) leading a group of matured, reliable, like-minded politicians Alhaji Yusuf Usman Muhtar expressed satisfaction with what he described as “unprecedented achievements within a short period”
Alhaji Muhtar, who is also a commissioner at the Kebbi State Law Reform Commission, observed with satisfaction how the governor improved the well-being of the people through the execution of high-quality projects in all sectors of development.
While wishing the Governor continued God’s guidance and blessing in the journey to 2027, the elder statesman advised him to consider the possibility of identifying qualified, competent and loyal people that will represent the state at the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives during the 2027 general elections.
According to him, ” it is evidently clear that you are the choice of the people of Kebbi State in 2027 and as such need to have qualified supporters at the National Assembly.”
Alhaji Yusuf Muhtar requested the Governor to prevail on Dr Usman Sani Tunga, the Rector of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic to accept the persistent call to contest the position of the Member of the House of Representatives, representing Kalgo, Bunza, Birnin Kebbi federal constituency in 2027.
According to him, the decision to nominate Dr. Tunga was informed by the aspiration of their group of elders to translate Dr Tunga’s extensive background, which positioned him favourable against other people who may be interested.
He maintained that Dr. Tunga has a solid educational foundation and considerable experience within the academic sector,
in addition to his doctorate degree in science education research, including cooperative strategy in chemistry, demonstrated his commitment to academic excellence as a Rector of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic
Alhaji Yusuf believed that his group’s aspiration for Dr Tunga’s representation is to achieve a natural progression of his impactful career.
He reminded the Governor of Dr Tuga’s journey from accomplished academic administrator to a potential figure that underscores their belief in his capacity to translate institutional achievements into broader societal benefits for the people.
