London’s 33 Below has broken 11 months of silence with ‘Mash Up’ a three-minute blitz of razor-sharp production and sweat-slicked energy that reintroduces the New Zealand-born producer at full throttle.
After nearly a year without releasing original music, 33 Below’s return is both welcomed and titanic. Named in EDM.com’s 2023 roundup of the year’s best electronic records, the young producer now looks poised to level up – and ‘Mash Up’ might just be the warning shot.
“Feels good to be back,” he wrote on Instagram last week, teasing a fresh batch of tracks already in the pipeline.
While many producers tiptoe around genre boundaries, 33 Below bulldozes them. ‘Mash Up’ is a filthy, floor-ready hybrid, all skittering percussion and throbbing basslines that hit with surgical chaos, anchored by the rapid-fire vocals of West London grime vet Scrufizzer. His high-octane delivery turns the track into pure riot mode, supercharging its dancefloor energy.
If this is 33 Below’s opening move, 2025 is about to get loud.
