AEG Presents to launch major new UK festival

AEG Presents UK has unveiled a major new music festival for Roundhay Park in Leeds.

American Express presents Roundhay Festival will debut in June 2026, and promises to feature “live music from some of the world’s biggest stars” and become a fixture on the cultural calendar in the north of England. The first headliner will be announced shortly.

Roundhay Park was recently granted permission to increase its capacity to just shy of 70,000 for concerts, and has previously hosted performances from the likes of Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Robbie Williams and Ed Sheeran, who played two nights in 2019.

Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, the festival will also feature a midweek programme of free activities.

The AEG team also organises London’s flagship festival BST Hyde Park, in addition to All Points East, Forwards Festival and LIDO.

“This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans”

“Everyone at AEG is thrilled to announce the launch of the Roundhay Festival in Leeds,” says Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals. “This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans, while building on the park’s incredible musical legacy.

“Roundhay Park already holds an extraordinary place in music history, having hosted concerts from some of the biggest artists of all time and we cannot wait to add to that story. As with all our events, we are committed to delivering the very best in every aspect, from welcoming some of the greatest artists in the world, to creating an unforgettable fan experience, and upholding industry-leading sustainability standards.”

As part of next year’s festival, a partnership with Roundhay School will offer students the chance to get involved in the live music industry and event management.

“We are determined to bring value to the park, the city, and the wider region,” adds King. “By working closely with local people and businesses, we aim to create a festival that everyone in Leeds can be proud of.”

Since 1999, Leeds has been home to the 75,000-cap Leeds Festival, which takes place at Bramham Park each August Bank Holiday weekend, promoted by Festival Republic.
