According to new legal documents, the singer was detained after a bench warrant was issued for failure to appear in court over a suspended driver’s license.
The incident reportedly began back in September, when police in Georgia spotted a Tesla Cybertruck stranded in the middle of the road.
While waiting for a tow truck to arrive, officers discovered that Akon’s driver’s license had been suspended due to a missed court appearance in January 2023.
Akon was released within 6 hours of his arrest.
