Alec Attari Debuts with a Timeless EP, ‘1982’

Released on May 30 via the influential French imprint Skylax Records, Turkish producer Alec Attari steps into the spotlight with his electrifying debut EP, 1982. A love letter to the era that shaped modern electronic music, the release draws from the shadowy allure of minimal wave, the gritty pulse of EBM, and the most elusive corners of Italo disco. The EP is already turning heads with a remix from none other than Alexander Robotnick, the Italian maestro behind the seminal ‘Problèmes d’Amour’, whose contribution alone cements this record as a must-have for connoisseurs of the genre.

Alec Attari, a rising force in the underground electronic scene, has carved out a distinct sonic identity built on analog textures and a deep respect for electronic music history. Known for weaving vintage synth lines with modern club sensibilities, Attari’s work is steeped in atmosphere, often nodding to the aesthetics of coldwave, electro, and early techno. His productions reflect a meticulous ear for mood and rhythm, drawing inspiration from legends like Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles, and The Hacker, while channeling a vision that’s unmistakably his own.

At the heart of 1982 lies ‘Visage’, a bold opener that sets the tone with its sharp synth stabs and shadowy ambiance. Its remix by Alexander Robotnick adds a layer of sinuous mystery, while ‘Time Machine’ drives deeper into EBM territory with an electrifying punch. On Side B, the Vondkreistan Remix of ‘Visage’ echoes Ron Hardy‘s signature energy, while ‘Wave’ and the closing title track ‘1982’ showcase Attari’s versatility – gliding through the sonic lineage of Legowelt, DMX Krew, and Anthony Rother. A masterful debut, 1982 isn’t just a release – it’s a full immersion into a vital electronic continuum.
