Dany Laj And The Looks: Meet Me On The Floor
(Some Call It Pop)

Montreal’s joyous power pop outfit Dany Laj And The Looks are back with a bang with their new party anthem single, Meet Me On The Floor. And they are also finally dusting down their tour van again and getting back out on the road with a bunch of Stateside tour dates.
These have been frustrating times for Dany Laj And The Looks over recent years whose relentless touring regime was stopped in its prime by lockdown and all that followed. As a band who have pioneered their very own brand of vibrant power pop with infectious melodies, high-energy performances, and a distinctive sound which brings a classic garage rock vibe into the modern era, this is a band who were born to be on the road. As Dany says himself, “In 2021 we made what we thought was a great record, Ten Easy Pieces. But we haven’t had a chance to tour it yet. Every time we tried to go out on the road, the world just kept stopping. Honestly, we were sick of not touring. We miss it and the road is where we belong.”
The Looks last single was You Should Know released back in November 2022. But all that is about to change with the announcement of an extensive Stateside tour and a brand spanking new single Meet Me On The Floor to fire up the cylinders.
Meet Me On The Floor is a breezy and uplifting party anthem, with Dany’s distinctive vocals overlaying fractured rhythms and an infectious blend of garage rock and power pop that is guaranteed to fill the dance floor. Alongside Dany on lead vocals and guitar is longtime bassist/vocalist Jeanette Dowling, as well as new Looks David Laplante on guitar and drummer Alex Pauzé. Stacey Case has a guest cameo on tambourine.
The Looks are finally hitting the road this autumn, journeying from Northern Ontario to BC with K-Man & The 45s starting in September through mid-October, and then heading out on their own until the end of October in the US, from the Midwest to the Northeast. They’ll pick it back up again in November, playing Canadian dates with Paul Collins’ Beat.
