A start studded memorial gig takes place on the 28th November to celebrate the life of ex-Bonzos frontman and the all round musical genius Neil Innes who passed away in 2019 aged 75. Named after his Monty Python track that featured on Live at Drury Lane, the ‘happening’ for want of a better title, features a whole slew of comedians and musical collaborators including The Spammed, a group featuring Micko Westmoreland from Micko and The Mellotronics, who had this to say about the event (whoop, there goes another).
‘I’m delighted to be celebrating the life & work of the late, great Neil Innes at the 02 indigo. Neil was a brilliant, generous man who was a profound thinker as well as great wit! He managed to combine comedy & music in a highly artful & lasting way, Collectively, we have all put our heads together to bring you this performance to showcase his talent. We’ll be looking to make it 100% Neil with an all star cast of luminaries & friends from Neil’s life.’
