A key ally of Vladimir Putin appeared to troll the West as he arrived in America wearing a Soviet Union sweatshirt.
CCCP is Russian for the Union Of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the official title of the old Soviet Union, which collapsed when the Cold War ended in 1991.
By wearing the sweatshirt on American soil, Lavrov appeared to be sending a clear message to the world as his former KGB agent boss prepares to hold talks with Trump on ending the Ukraine war.
Although the full logo was hidden under a black gilet Lavrov was also wearing, social media users were in no doubt about what it said – and what it meant.
