Guido hears Zack Polanski’s Green Party is to attempt an attack and rebuttal operation of its own after a slew of stories have landed on its candidates in the local elections. No longer good enough to be greener than green… plus ça change…
Only a year ago the Greens had no real operational press unit let alone an attack team. It has only just got out of the habit of only speaking to truly ‘friendly’ media outlets…
Polanski has railed constantly against attacks from Labour and others, especially those that appear in the press:
- “The Daily Mail resorts to personal attacks because they’re rattled.”
- Attack stories mean: “It’s almost like they’re all part of the same uni party.”
- “Smears” are “debasing our politics.”
- “The caretaker PM is running scared and resorting to more smears because he knows the game is up.”
- Described attacks as “vile.”
- “I wonder why Labour have made 3 attack videos about me in the last 24 hours? They’re done. Finished. Toast.”
As the Greens have presumably found out attack is both the bread and butter of a political operation. No kinder, gentler, politics?
