Hypocrisy is not unknown to politicians, especially those in this Labour Party. Labour’s tax on private schools makes it harder for parents to gather enough funds to give their children the best opportunities, so Guido thought to take a look at those Shadow Cabinet ministers who managed to make the most of a private education. - Alan Campbell – Aldenham School.
- Thangam Debbonaire – Chetham’s Music School.
- Anneliese Dodds – Robert Gordon’s College.
- Louise Haigh – Sheffield High School.
- John Healey – St Peter’s, York.
- Hilary Benn – Westminster Under School.
It would be remiss to forget Lady Victoria Starmer, who attended Channing School as well. That’s 8 out of 32 in the Shadow Cabinet that attended fee-paying schools. Guido wonders which of them might not have been able to go had their VAT on private schools policy been implemented at the time…
