This afternoon Bob Blackman, the Chairman of the 1922 Committee, announced the final list of candidates for the now-commenced leadership contest. They are:
- Kemi Badenoch
- James Cleverly
- Robert Jenrick
- Priti Patel
- Mel Stride
- Tom Tugendhat
So no surprises. The contest will now play out on the timetable announced last week.
