British No.1 tennis star Jack Draper has reached the first major quarter-final of his career after booking a spot in the last eight at the 2024 US Open.
Draper, seen by many as the heir to retired icon Andy Murray, has enjoyed a superb year on the ATP Tour, registering his maiden title in Stuttgart back in June.
The 22-year-old has been surging up the rankings – passing the likes of Cameron Norrie – and entered Flushing Meadows as the 25th seed in the men’s singles.
Draper recorded wins over Zhang Zhizhen, Facundo Diaz Acosta and Botic van de Zandschulp – who eliminated Carlos Alcaraz – before battling past Tomas Machac.

Draper next faces Alex de Minaur in the US Open quarter-finals on Wednesday. The Australian is seeded 10th and is the boyfriend of British No.1 Katie Boulter.
De Minaur knocked out British star Dan Evans in the third round – but we do not yet know the exact time in which he will face Draper tomorrow (September 4).
That’s because we are waiting for the US Open’s official order of play for Wednesday, which won’t be confirmed until later on.
