MARCO Verde has hooked up with Team Canelo as rumblings of a 2025 professional switch gather pace. ESPN’s Salvador Rodriguez tweeted about the move below, including an image of Verde and Eddy Reynoso.

Verde claimed a silver medal in the 2024 Olympic Games over the summer, losing in the final to Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev. Verde defeated Great Britain’s Lewis Richardson in the Paris semi-final by a split decision and impressed with his athletic style that would seamlessly fit into the professional code.
Meanwhile, as the dust settles following Artur Beterbiev’s win over Dmitry Bivol to become undisputed light-heavyweight champion, Canelo has been murmuring about fighting the new king. According to the Spanish-language boxing channel Izquierdado Boxeo, contact has been made between the camps and Canelo is waiting for an offer and has encouraged Eddy Reynoso to open discussions with Bob Arum.
