Leigh Wood signed glove part of charity auction | Boxing News

A GLOVE signed by former featherweight world champion Leigh Wood is up for auction. Epilepsy Action has kindly been gifted a white Everlast glove. All of the money raised goes directly to the services provided by the charity, which include support groups, an award-winning helpline and a be-friending scheme.

National charity Epilepsy Action is hosting a week-long auction to raise funds to support people with epilepsy across the UK. The Auction of Promises is being held from 28th October to 3rd November. A wide range of prizes is available, including custom art, sports memorabilia and signed programmes.

After a successful National Doodle Day, raising over £25,000 for the charity, the Auction of Promises is another chance for people to get their hands on some unique items. There’s the opportunity to bid on autographs from various sports stars (including world featherweight champion Leigh Wood, GB athlete Dame Jessica Ennis Hill, England/ Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and cricketing legend Joe Root) a fairy designed by Georgie Ripper, and a tour of ITN studios.

The full cast signed programme of The Duke of York’s production of Romeo and Juliet is certain to be in demand, with signatures from the cast including Tom Holland, Freema Agyeman and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers. This will run as a ticketed raffle, with tickets set at just £10.

Epilepsy is a life-changing condition that affects 1 in 100 people in the UK. Epilepsy Action believes that every person with epilepsy deserves to feel supported and reassured. The funds raised through the Auction of Promises help to support the services offered by the charity. These include support groups, an award-winning helpline run by a team of experts and a befriending scheme to help people understand their epilepsy and ensure they don’t feel alone.

Digital Events Lead at Epilepsy Action, Michael King said “We are so excited to host the Auction of Promises. There are so many unique gifts that can be won, including some that are one–of-a–kind. We’re encouraging everyone to take a look at all the items and get bidding- you don’t want to miss out!

“The event is not only brilliant for fundraising, but it is also a great opportunity for getting a conversation going and raising awareness about epilepsy. It’s so important to use this time to talk about epilepsy and how it affects people.”

Bidding takes place from 28th October to 3rd November. To see the full range of items available and to get bidding, visit Auction of Promises – Epilepsy Action.
