Montel Williams has no time for Kamala Harris slander!
Days ahead of the U.S. presidential election, Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris – while hot on a nationwide campaign blitz – almost found herself in the middle of a hot scandal as the rumor mill began spinning murmurs of an explicit tape featuring her and former boyfriend Montel.
“Wow, I was just informed by my friend, who is the CEO of a large tech company, that there is allegedly a sex tape being shopped around involving Kamala Harris and Montel Williams,” a Twitter user proclaimed last week. “This could break the internet and seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election.”
Once word of the rumor landed on Williams’ desk, the EMMY winner quickly shut down the noise.
“Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” the 68-year-old said to his 181,000 followers on the platform in response. “Let’s ‘break the internet’ with truth – there is no tape.”
This isn’t the first time Montel’s had to correct misinformation about his relationship with the VP.
During her first bid for presidency in 2019, he took to ‘Marie Claire‘ to quell chatter about their dating history.
“Kamala Harris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?” he explained. “I have great respect for [her]. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”
For the record, he has officially endorsed Kamala’s current bid for presidency.
He, like most of the world, will be waiting with bated breath for the results of the election as she faces off against Republican candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday (November 5).
