IPMAN, Dangote reach deal on direct petrol supply

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached an agreement with Dangote Refinery for the direct supply of petroleum products.

IPMAN National President, Abubakar Garima, announced the partnership at a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee. Garima stated that this collaboration aims to ensure a steady, affordable supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) nationwide.

“After meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we are pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets,” Garima shared.

He also encouraged IPMAN members to back Dangote Refinery, highlighting the advantages of backward integration and its potential impact on Nigeria’s foreign exchange stability.

“IPMAN members should rely on Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for white products, creating more job opportunities and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda,” he added.

This agreement follows months of negotiations between IPMAN and Dangote and is expected to boost supply chain efficiency, affordability, and economic growth. Dangote Refinery, the largest of its kind in Africa and Europe, has already begun producing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, with plans to serve over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets across Nigeria.

The direct supply move is anticipated to reduce reliance on middlemen, lower costs, and ensure a stable fuel supply.
