Secrets of 300ft pyramid looming over US city

A massive pyramid that stoops over Memphis in Tennessee and has faced many problems is believed to be cursed.

It is all blamed on its mysterious creator, who it is believed cursed the Memphis Pyramid when he built it.

There are also stories about hidden artefacts inside the structure, 30 years after it was made.

The pyramid opened up in 1991 and it cost £50million to build over a three-year period.

Legend has it that construction workers soon found an unknown metal box somehow melded to the top.

What’s weird is that this box was not part of any construction plans.

Suddenly the workers were smacked in the face with a powerful smell of incense and they found a crystal skull placed there by Isaac Tigrett, the creator.

When Isaac found out it had been removed he was furious because it is meant to ward off evil spirits.

According to legend, this then caused a series of unfortunate events that left the pyramid empty for a while.

The first unfortunate event was when The Judds were due to play at the venue butthe plumbing was not installed properly.

It was a disaster because once toilets were flushed sewage then swept through the bathrooms and hallways.

Infrastructure was a problem once again when the venue started hosting basketball games.

The acoustics turned out to be terrible and the pyramid lacked basic facilities used by NBA teams.

While The Rolling Stones and Mary J. Blige played at the venue in 2007, it then closed and was left vacant for a decade.

The venue is now home to a Bass Pro Shops after a £167million upgrade.

If you happen to visit the mysterious pyramid, you’ll also come across 103-room Big Cypress Lodge, built into the upper floors, with porches overlooking an alligator-filled cypress swamp.

The concept for the pyramid was first drafted in 1954 and was drawn up by artist Mark C. Hartz.
