Why upgrading your tech regularly will help your business grow – Growth Business

Has upgrading the tech for your growing business been on your mind but you haven’t quite got round to it yet?

Well, now is the time. For one thing, Windows 10 will reach its end-of-life date on October 14, 2025. This means that support won’t be available if something goes wrong.

Businesses should be upgrading their technology every 3-5 years to stay competitive and offer a more streamlined service. However, due to factors such as cost, lack of research time and fear of new systems faltering, some are reluctant. But as a growing business, this should be really high on your priority list.

If you don’t replace your old tech, it could put you at a real risk of:

Lower productivity: Research from Curry’s reveals that UK workers tend to lose 46 minutes a day to slow tech, amounting to a significant 24 days’ worth of work time every year. It also shows that one in ten employees would consider leaving their job over it.
Greater repair costs: Older machines tend to cost more in repairs. What’s more, they’re not as energy efficient as newer machines, setting you back more on your energy bills.
Compatibility issues: You might find the usability of your older tech more limited, such as not being able to use Windows 11.
Compromised cybersecurity: Having older tech means that you might not be getting security updates, leaving your business vulnerable to attacks from opportunistic hackers.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Dell Technologies to bring you our latest ebook, It’s time for a refresh: how upgrading your tech can give you a cutting edge. It will go into more detail as to why it’s wise to upgrade your tech and how to do it while causing minimal disruption for your high-growth business.
