In the beginning, the family estate, more precisely 3 generations, produced coffee, cocoa and vanilla until the middle of the 20th century. Then, for a number of historical reasons, they specialized in growing bananas on the estate. In 1928, a cyclone destroyed the cocoa and coffee plantations. Then, in the 70s, the sugarcane crisis began. As a result, many farmers turned to banana cultivation, and bananas became the mainstay of Guadeloupe.
