Tiscore talks collaborations, Pulsedriver, and the production process [interview]

Tiscore is an electrifying DJ and producer from Berlin, Germany, quickly emerging as a standout force in the German dance music scene. With gold and platinum records to his name and over 200 million streams on Spotify, his meteoric rise shows no signs of slowing down. Since starting his career in 2013, TISCORE has captivated audiences at iconic festivals such as Airbeat One, Ruhr In Love, Electrisize, and Spring Break Croatia, while also dominating club stages across the country. His boundary-pushing productions and undeniable passion make him one of the most exciting artists to watch.

Set the tone for us. Why the arts?
Cause I’d be lost without it 🙂

Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?
I always start with the melody or chords. I almost never begin with sound design because the song is more important to me than the production.

Does your material feature any collaborations?
Of course. I work with people from the industry all the time. Many of my records come out with collab partners.

What’s on your current playlist?
I know it sounds crazy, but I barely listen to music in my private life. Just for sports, I like to put on some hardstyle haha.

Tell us about the chemistry you have with your fans on stage.
DJing is always about giving the crowd special moments they remember and taking them on a journey with the music.

What techniques do you experiment with to get your original sound?
Trial ‘n error 🙂

Take us through a day in the recording studio.
It depends on whether I have a writing session or I’m producing/finalizing a song. Sometimes the business part takes more time than it should haha. Luckily, not every day is the same in this industry 🙂

Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “this is what I want to do”?
When I was introduced to the artist Pulsedriver, who became my first mentor in electronic music. Standing in his studio for the first time, I was like, “Damn, this is fire!”

What do you keep close by while you’re playing a set?
A good mood 🙂

Any emerging artists on your radar?
Countless! With TikTok, I see insane newcomer musicians every day. I love that musicians have the chance to make themselves visible now.

What gets your creative juices flowing?
It kind of just happens. I really enjoy what I’m doing. Of course, some days nothing works, but it’s part of the process.

Too many haha. But I really love UAD, Serum, Nexus, and Kontakt.

Any side projects you’re working on?
Besides my main project Tiscore, I’m writing and producing for other artists, but my focus is on my own stuff at the moment.

How have you refined your craft since you entered the industry?
Have I done that? 😀 I don’t know—guess the more time you spend on something, the better you get. Experience brings you closer to a sound you really enjoy.
