Adamu Garba: Cabal Behind Jonathan’s Removal Now Targeting Tinubu | The Bureau Newspaper

Adamu Garba Claims Anti-Tinubu Campaign from 2015 is Revived in the North, Predicts Failure

Abuja, Nigeria – Adamu Garba, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has alleged that the same political forces that successfully campaigned against former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 are now being mobilized against President Bola Tinubu, particularly in the northern region of Nigeria. However, Garba asserts that these efforts will ultimately fail to achieve their goals against the current administration.

In a series of posts shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, Garba argued that the organized distribution of Russian flags across northern Nigeria suggests the involvement of established political entities. He contends that only those with significant political influence and infrastructure could coordinate such a widespread display, hinting at unnamed politicians who are allegedly attempting to destabilize President Tinubu’s government.

Garba’s Allegations and Concerns

Garba expressed skepticism about the link between the Russian flags and the current protests against economic hardships, suggesting that the symbolism may be politically motivated rather than genuinely reflective of public sentiment. He stated, “There is no one that will have the capacity to distribute Russian flags all over the North other than persons who already have an established political structure.”

He further elaborated, “I cannot imagine a correlation between Russian flags and the hunger the protesters are using as a yardstick. It seems to be that some politicians are doing everything possible to undo this government.”

Defense of Tinubu’s Administration

The APC chieftain voiced strong support for President Tinubu, emphasizing that many of the economic challenges being protested were inherited from the previous administration. Garba defended Tinubu’s efforts to address these issues, despite the criticism and unrest that have followed policy changes such as the removal of fuel subsidies.

“We know it wasn’t you who removed the kerosene subsidy, diesel subsidy, and it wasn’t even you who removed the current petroleum subsidy; it was the last administration. Yet they blame you for daring to do the right thing. Shame on them,” Garba stated.

He continued to express his loyalty, saying, “We know Mr. President, you are a very strong patriotic Nigerian President and you are doing everything possible to see to the success of this country. For this effect, we stand with you wholeheartedly till the very end.”

Comparisons with the Anti-Jonathan Campaign

Drawing parallels to the campaign against former President Jonathan, Garba suggested that the current anti-Tinubu sentiment in the North is being fueled by similar forces. He mentioned Omoyele Sowore and his media platform, Sahara Reporters, as key players in the past efforts against Jonathan, implying that these same actors are now targeting Tinubu.

“It may appear that the same camp that was used to oust Jonathan, using Sowore and his Sahara Reporters as a frontier, is the same people that activated the anti-Tinubu sentiment in the North. They shall fail,” he declared confidently.

Optimism for Tinubu’s Success

Garba concluded his remarks with a message of optimism and support for President Tinubu, expressing faith in the administration’s resilience and commitment to Nigeria’s progress. “The only difference is that they may have succeeded against Jonathan, but they will never succeed in winning against President Tinubu. God is always with those who genuinely care for Nigeria,” Garba affirmed.

Government’s Response to Protests

Meanwhile, the government has been closely monitoring the protests and addressing concerns raised by citizens. President Tinubu has reiterated his dedication to economic recovery and has urged the public to exercise patience and trust in the administration’s efforts to address the nation’s challenges.

Authorities continue to investigate the origins and motivations behind the use of foreign flags in protests, emphasizing the need for peaceful and constructive dialogue as Nigeria navigates its current economic landscape.
