Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has said the Super Eagles deserved more from Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against the Amavubi of Rwanda.
The Super Eagles were held to a 0-0 draw in the encounter played at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.
The scoreline would have been different had the Super Eagles converted some of the chances that came their way in the game.
Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon and Victor Osimhen all missed good scoring opportunities for the three-time African champions.
Dele-Bashiru however stated that it’s a good thing they didn’t lose the game.
“I think we played well, it was going to be difficult, playing away . They have their fans cheering them. Of course there is a lot circumstances to consider too,” the Lazio midfielder said after the game.
“The problem is that we couldn’t convert our chances, we created a lot chances to win the game. We have take positive that we didn’t concede.
“This result will definitely boost our chances of qualifying for the AFCON. It is not the result we wanted but definitely not a bad one.”
