Everton plot January move for Chukwueze

Everton are plotting a move to sign AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze in the January transfer window.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, (as per Football Insider) senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Toffees have been monitoring Chukwueze.

The Nigeria international has not featured much this season under new AC Milan coach Paolo Fonseca, with six of his eight appearances in all competitions coming from the bench.

However, according to Football Insider a deal for the winger will be difficult to accomplish in the upcoming transfer window.

Everton manager Sean Dyche is eyeing a right-winger to enhance that side of the team, with Santiago Castro being another option.

Both wingers are currently playing in Serie A, which is a division The Friedkin Group have plenty of experience working in due to their involvement with Roma.

Signing Chukwueze might be a complex deal to achieve in January, but Football Insider revealed that The Friedkin Group are expected to financially back the manager in the transfer window.

The expected new owners don’t want the club to be involved in another relegation fight, therefore strengthening the squad to push away from that could be an option.

Meanwhile, Chukwueze scored the only goal as AC Milan defeated Udinese 1-0 at the weekend.

It was the 25-year-old’s first goal in eight appearances in the Italian topflight this season.

He was in action for the Super Eagles in the 1-0 win against Libya on matchday 3 of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in Uyo.

However, he did not travel with the team to Libya for the second leg due to injury.
