The first Commonwealth war memorial outside London has been unveiled in Bradford in a ceremony honouring the sacrifice and bravery of veterans from the former British colonies.
Families of former Commonwealth troops say it is a ‘long time coming’, as the contribution of the millions of Black and Asian soldiers who served in both World Wars have been ‘overlooked’.
We spoke to a 102-year-old Pakistani war veteran and his son ahead of the ceremony.
