Sky Sports pundit John Part believes Littler’s epic clash with Gary Anderson was one of the ‘best we’ve ever seen.’
“It was everything we could have hoped for, really fantastic efforts from both of the players.Â
“You’ve got to feel for Gary Anderson. He couldn’t have given it much more in the middle of the match. All those high finishes and clutch hitting. He seized control of it and couldn’t hang on.
“It’s a slippery grip when you are fighting against Luke Littler who held his nerve really well.
“There was a lot of pressure on him there and I think he was really feeling it, but he came through that and you’ve got to complement him. Really great job.
“Anderson had to be really mistake-free and couldn’t quite come up with the one extra bit of brilliance he needed.
“He had so much magic and I’m sure he’s going to be feeling it now. It’s one that got away. It’s going to hurt but I think he can be very proud.
“We were really treated to a match there. What a semi-final. One of the best we’ve ever seen.”
