A new novel by David Peace dramatises the Munich football tragedy of 1958 which killed 23 people – eight of them Manchester United players – after the plane carrying the team back home from a European match crashed on an icy Munich runway.
That tragedy and how the Red Devils came back from the brink is at the heart of his book. He spoke to Jackie Long.
