The Kano State government has embarked on massive construction of new blocks of class room across the 44 local government areas of the state.
The development tallies with the state of emergency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had declared on education last June.
Yusuf had on that occasion said the initiative was aimed at providing the required manpower for public schools in the state to provide quality education.
Daily INDEPENDENT Correspondent who visited a number of primary schools located at Tarauni, Nassarawa, Gwale within Kano metropolitan Councils to assess the performance level report that the affected schools are now construction site.
In the affected schools, a twin block of classrooms have reached advanced stage of construction, as learning goes on side by side.
At Namadi Primary School Ungwar Jakada, a construction of one storey block of 4 classroom with office has reached 60 percent completion.
Similarly, the situation was the same at Abubakar Yusuf GJSS, Hotoro Kudu where the construction of one storey block of 4 class rooms with office has reached advanced stage.
At Darmanawa Gada Karfe, a construction of one storey block of classrooms with office has reached 20 percent according to QS Aminu Rabiu, the contractor handling the site.
