Labour confirms plan to scrap Rwanda asylum scheme if it wins election

The Labour Party has confirmed it will abandon the government’s scheme to send failed asylum seekers to Rwanda.

Instead it’s proposing a Border Security Command that it says will deter people smuggling and illegal migration.

Sir Keir Starner visited Dover this morning, where he promised to make Britain a “hostile territory” for those transporting people across the channel on small boats.
