Trent Alexander-Arnold is intent on staying at Liverpool for another season despite interest from Real Madrid, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has won seven trophies with Liverpool, including the Premier League and the Champions League, since making his first-team debut in 2016.
Alexander-Arnold has just a year left on his contract with Liverpool and has yet to reach an agreement with the club over a new deal.
Last week, reports claimed that Real Madrid hold a ‘serious’ interest in signing Alexander-Arnold and have already made an approach to sign the England international.
However, The Sun reports that Alexander-Arnold has already held talks with Arne Slot about the new season with Liverpool and is committed for the upcoming campaign.
The report adds that Liverpool are planning to offer Alexander-Arnold a ‘bumper’ new contract in order to fend off interest from Madrid.
‘Trent’s spoken to the new manager already,’ a source told the newspaper.
‘This took place before the Euros and they’re in touch now.
‘They had a great conversation initially but the manager respected that he needed to focus on the tournament.
‘Trent, like the rest of the squad, sees this as a new beginning and a fresh start and he is excited to get back to training to lay the foundations for a successful, new season.
‘He is definitely committed for the season and a huge deal will be presented to him to stay beyond that.
‘Everyone at the club has huge admiration for Trent and will be doing whatever it takes to keep him.’
