Michin and Shotzi: A Potential Tag Team Duo on the Horizon?
In the aftermath of the August 12 edition of “WWE Raw,” where a match to determine the next challengers for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship ended inconclusively, a surprising name has stepped up with a proposition. Michin, a former TNA Knockouts Champion, has expressed her interest in pursuing the tag team titles, and she’s eyeing a partnership with a fellow SmackDown star who’s currently sidelined due to injury.
Taking to social media, Michin directed her message to Shotzi, who has been out of action since February. “Hey @ShotziWWE, whenever you’re back to 100%, I think we should go after those tag titles,” Michin posted, signaling her desire to form a new alliance with the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. At the time of writing, Shotzi has yet to respond to Michin’s offer, leaving fans eager to see if the partnership will materialize once Shotzi returns.

Shotzi’s absence from WWE programming is due to a torn ACL, an injury she sustained during a match against the then-NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria. Since her injury, Shotzi has been on the road to recovery, undergoing stem cell treatments and taking the necessary time to heal. In a May update on Instagram, she shared her optimistic outlook, revealing that while her knee injury was a setback, it also provided her the opportunity to address a lingering back issue. “Finally getting the stem cells I’ve needed for my back feels like a silver lining,” Shotzi wrote, hinting at a possible return in early 2025, possibly around the Royal Rumble season.
The idea of a Shotzi and Michin tag team is not entirely new. The two have shown mutual respect and camaraderie in the past, with Shotzi previously hinting at Michin being the only WWE superstar capable of matching her unique, “freaky” energy. Michin’s recent activity in the ring has been limited, with her last appearance being a notable victory over Tiffany Stratton, Ms. Money in the Bank, on the July 19 episode of “WWE SmackDown.” The reason for Michin’s absence since then is unclear, sparking speculation among fans whether it’s due to an injury or simply a lack of creative direction for her character.
As fans eagerly await Shotzi’s return, the potential tag team duo with Michin adds an exciting layer to the Women’s Tag Team division. Should they join forces, they could very well become formidable challengers for the titles, injecting new energy into the tag team scene. Until then, the WWE Universe will have to wait and see how this story unfolds.
