Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has said his focus is now on Sunday’s oriental derby with Abia Warriors.
The title holders defeated Bayelsa United 1-0 in a rescheduled game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes have struggled to replicate the impeccable form that saw them claim the title last season.
The win over Bayelsa United was a welcome relief for Rangers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to title rivals , Remo Stars last weekend.
Ilechukwu said the win will boost his side’s confidence heading into the clash with Abia Warriors.
“We are so happy about the outcome of this game. This was a very important game for us. Before Bayelsa came, we already knew it was going to be a difficult encounter, but thank God we won the game, which will give my team the confidence and the belief needed for our next game against Abia Warriors,” he said in his post-match chat.
