Piers Morgan has revealed he will be grilling Armie Hammer about cannibalism allegations made against the actor.
The 37-year-old is best known for starring in films Death on the Nile and Call Me By Your Name, but in 2021 was accused of rape, emotional abuse and violence by multiple women, which he denied.
It was claimed that he had a fetish for cannibalism, with the women reporting that he made comments about wanting to ‘take a bite’ out of their body parts.
Three years on from the original allegations, Armie will now be sitting down to speak to Piers, with the broadcaster revealing the upcoming interview on Tuesday night.
‘Just finished a quite extraordinary 90-minute interview with Armie “I’m a cannibal” Hammer,’ he posted alongside an image of them standing next to each other in a studio.
‘IS he a cannibal? Find out when we post later in the week.
‘It’s a truly incredible conversation – raw, tearful, passionate, authentic.’
In May 2023, the sexual assault charges against Hammer were dropped after an investigation.
The development came three months after he spoke about the allegations for the first time in an interview with digital newsletter Air Mail.
Hammer said that he contemplated suicide when the headlines began breaking two years earlier, and claimed that he was sexually abused by a youth pastor at 13.
‘What that did for me was it introduced sexuality into my life in a way that it was completely out of my control,” he told digital newsletter Air Mail, via Variety.
‘I was powerless in the situation. I had no agency in the situation. Sexuality was introduced to me in a scary way where I had no control.
‘My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, sexually.’
After being accused of sexual abuse and improper behaviour by numerous women, Hammer was dropped by his agency and was fired from projects including the movie Shotgun Wedding, which starred Jennifer Lopez and saw him replaced by Josh Duhamel.
Hammer then went on to work as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands and also spent time in a recovery facility.
Going on to say that he wanted to ‘own my mistakes and take accountability’, Hammer said that he was now a ‘healthier, happier and more balanced person’.
Hammer’s divorce from his wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Chambers was confirmed last year too after the pair initially split in 2020.
