Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling is expected to be in high demand over the summer but his Premier League suitors are expected to face competition from the Bundesliga
A number of Premier League clubs have an eye on Tyler Dibling, but they face a battle. Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City might have the Southampton starlet in their sights, but the teenager will also have the option of moving to the Bundesliga.
Dibling has impressed this season, despite Southampton languishing at the bottom of the table. He put in a particularly eye-catching performance against Manchester United in the early part of the season, winning a penalty which was missed by Cameron Archer in an eventual Saints defeat.
With Ivan Juric’s side destined for relegation, the 19-year-old is expected to be in high demand. Indeed, there was some speculation the teenager might leave in January, but he ultimately remained at St Mary’s.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Spurs and City are showing the ‘most’ interest in Dibling, who was previously also linked with United. RB Leipzig are also said to stand a real chance, though, with the same publication indicating fellow Bundesliga side Bayern Munich are fans of the youngster but yet to make a concrete offer.
Dibling has two goals in the league and two in cups this season, despite his team’s struggles. He also made his England Under-21 bow in the autumn, though he is back with the Under-19s for the March international break.

Southampton’s former manager Russell Martin talked up Dibling’s quality, with Southampton attempting to get their prized possession to commit to a new deal amid Manchester United links. “I was told some rumours about Man Utd, one was a bid of £21m,” Martin said in December.
“I’m not sure you’ll get his left foot for that. We have offered him a contract, a really good contract for someone his age. At the minute, I don’t think his agent agrees, so that’s where we’re at.”
While there was no transfer announcement to follow, Dibling remains under contract until 2027. Martin might no longer be in charge, with Ivan Juric now at the helm, but Southampton still value the teenager highly.
Bayern chiefs Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are both said to be fans of Dibling, though the Bundesliga leaders have other options. Borussia Dortmund’s England Under-21 talent Jamie Gittens is another name on their list, along with Rayan Cherki of Lyon.
Sky Sport Germany points to Bayern’s success with Michael Olise when explaining their interest in Dibling. The French playmaker has excelled since joining from Crystal Palace over the summer, providing eight goals and seven assists as Vincent Kompany’s team sit six points clear at the top.
Bayern’s former boss Pep Guardiola could yet stand in the way, though. His Manchester City side spent big in January but could also be in line for a busy summer as they prepare for Kevin De Bruyne’s and Ilkay Gundogan’s contracts to expire.
