In early October, a charity auction featuring belongings and musical equipment of the late electronic dance music artist Avicii took place in Stockholm, Sweden. The event, organised by Stockholms Auktionsverk, generated approximately $700,000 for The Tim Berling Foundation, a mental health organisation established by Avicii’s parents following his passing in 2018.
As reported by EDM.com, the sale encompassed 267 lots, attracting bids from over 40 countries. A standout item was Avicii’s Martin Custom X Series acoustic guitar, which fetched more than $25,000. The artist’s family contributed all the auctioned items, with the proceeds directed towards supporting youth mental wellness initiatives.
Among the diverse array of offerings were musical instruments, studio gear, and personal effects such as clothing and accessories. Notable lots included photographic materials from a 2013 press shoot, various guitars including a 2015 Fender Telecaster, drum sets, microphones, and DJ equipment like Pioneer CDJs and mixers.
Cecilia Gave, who leads Stockholms Auktionsverk, expressed enthusiasm about the substantial sum raised for The Tim Bergling Foundation. “We are very pleased to see how The Avicii Collection has also appealed to a younger audience. Many here in the hall have placed their very first auction bids today, and it feels very honourable for us to be a part of that.”
