Britney Spears Denies Saying She Felt “Upset & Violated By” Halsey’s ‘Lucky’ Video: “Fake News; That Was Not Me”

Britney Spears stunned her beloved fans (affectionately called the #BritneyArmy) when it was believed she marched to X (formerly known as Twitter) to slam ‘Lucky‘ – the July 26-released single from Halsey that interpolates elements of her own 2000 hit of the same name.

More inside.

In shocking tweets to her 54.5 million followers on the platform, Spears slammed the ‘Lucky’ visual (seen above).

”For obvious reasons, I’m very upset about the Halsey video,” the tweet from Brit’s official account read. “I feel harassed, violated and bullied. I didn’t know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all.”

Later threatening legal action for her seeming depiction in the new video, Spears’ rant concluded by saying Halsey’s visual felt “illegal and downright cruel.”

Just as news outlets ran with the story, however, the 42-year-old diva return to the platform to assert someone else posted the statements.

At the time of this report, Halsey has not responded to the hoopla.

The news comes just days after the 29-year-old confirmed receipt of Britney’s blessing to incorporate the 2000’s ‘Lucky’ into the new single.
