Following its inaugural edition in March, Broadside Hacks Folk Club presents its second tribute to the legendary Soho club Les Cousins – a venue at the centre of the British folk revival in the mid-60s that hosted practically all the most influential artists of the period: Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell Cat Stevens, Donovan, Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, The Incredible String Band, John Martyn, Paul Simon…
On this coming Bank Holiday weekend – 24th and the 26th August – St Giles Church in Camberwell, London, will feature performances from legends Bridget St. John and John Altman (Nick Drake/John Martyn) as well as from the latest forerunners in UK Folk – Daisy Rickman, Goblin Band, Sam Grassie, in celebration of Les Cousins’ huge legacy.

Also appearing are a number of KLOF favourites we’ve previously featured, including Gemma Khawaja (alongside Robin Gillian), Angeline Morrison, Milkweed (and Evan Parker) and Ian A. Anderson.

Running alongside the event will be a weeklong art exhibition at Flitcroft Street Gallery exploring the history of the infamous venue and talks about Women in Folk featuring Rose Simpson (The Incredible String Band) and Diana Matheou, wife of Andy, who founded the venue in 1964.
