World-renowned Detroit house music producer and DJ Moodymann, is set to make his South Africa debut in February.Â
Presented by Lighthouse in collaboration with Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF), Moodymann will headline the one day festival which is set to take place on 22 February at the DHL Stadium in Greenpoint, Cape Town.Â
As a formidable force within the music industry, Moodymann is known for his transcendent house music productions and innovative DJing style. His ability to merge elements of soul, funk and jazz is otherworldly, along with his knack for blending samples and sound design.Â
Lighthouse has been around for over a decade, and has taken place all over the world including South Africa, Austria and Croatia. CTEMF was established in 2012, and placed some of the best electronic music acts in the world on South African stages, including Goldie, Richie Hawtin, Caspa and Nightmares on Wax to name a few.
Supporting acts for the festival include top tier South African artists such as house and techno maestro Kyle Russouw, genre-bender Athi Maq as well as house stalwarts Charles Webster and Vinny Da Vinci who are doing a back to back.Â
